How accurate!

I think lists and quizzes have come to define my life. So sad. Blame NUS. Lol.

And Onions. Onions and I probably share some really deep bond. See, My parents holidaying in a faraway land makes it necessary that I cook. The day before, I made Maggie Mee. Yesterday was bread and eggs. Today was this strange and burnt I-don't-know-what-to-call-it thing. You get the picture. But anyway, the common factor in all of the above mentioned attempts was - Onions!
I can't seem to put my mind into cooking anything till I cut some onions. Which is so strange. Bread doesn't need onions, but I cut them all the same, and left them in the fridge for future uses. And when I started on today's unmentionable meal, I decided to cut MORE onions.
It's like some ritual. Like how before you start on a carnatic music piece, you would sing/play S P S - Similarly, before I start cooking, I cut onions.

Aiya.

Honestly, I think I'm the strangest person I have ever met!

Anyway, looking on the bright side, SCHOOL'S OUT! :)

I decided to celebrate it by watching tragic indian movies all day, and crying over every single one of them. Even Devdas. It's not one of my favourite movies - I have always felt it was too much glitz and little substance, and shah rukh overacted so much that it was painful. BUT when he dies, its SO tragic! I love the way the director connects paro and deva towards the end and the dialogue gets beautifully poetic...I was bawling for a solid 15 minutes. And this doesn't count tearing. Oh well.

Onions? I hate cutting them. They make me cry. A lot. More than tragic Indian movies. D:

omg. i've read My Name is Red half way. no 3/4 way. it requires a lot of patience. it's rather beautiful taking in the culture. but i cldnt bring myself to finish the bk. didnt have it in me to. tell me if you do though. :)

the alchemist is perhaps, overly hyped. but it is a thought provoking book. and a bk definitely for the hols. a simple and fast read.

Pj: haha i like onions! they taste good. I will cook for you when i make some progress in cooking. You wouldn't wanna taste my cooking as of now (:

Reshma: Yup just finished the alchemist and i agree with you. It's overly hyped. The beginning and the ending were boring but the middle part, along with the philo, was nice.
hahaha my name is red! I have given up on it 3 times. Im gonna give it a try one more time. Catch 22 too. gave up on it once. dammit.
